Sustainable House Day 2011

Bendigo’s Sustainable House Day is on this Sunday 23 October. The self-drive tourBendigo Sustainable House Day kicks off with registration at 9:30am from Peppergreen Farm (Thunder St, North Bendigo) and the houses will be open from 10:30 – 4:00pm. You can decide which houses you visit and the order in which you visit them.

Expert talks on Sustainable Housing will be run at Peppergreen Farm between 10:00- 11:00am.

Six houses will showcase both renovated and new homes. The homes featured in the tour boast a range of products from uPVC double glazed windows, through to innovative heating and insulation options.

See first hand how others have achieved some great savings. Owners and suppliers will be present for you to ask questions and learn tricks to help you save water, keep your house cool in summer, warm in winter and moderate your energy consumption.

Tickets at $20 are only available online and must be brought to registration on the day to receive your map and ‘show bag’ of tips. Children under 15 free.

Organisers, the Bendigo Sustainabililty Group, are encouraging attendees to be efficient with their transport; anyone who car pools or rides their bike on the day automatically goes into the draw to win an EcoSwitch.
