Where do you go for good cheese in Bendigo? These are our top picks.

Bendigo Wholefoods

314 Lyttleton Terrace, Bendigo

Well you can’t go past Bendigo Wholefoods for quality local cheese including Boosey Creek, Goldfields Farmhouse Cheese, Holy Goat and Lochelian. They also have a vegan and dairy free cheese, as well as a whole store of foodie goodness.

The Epicurean Delicatessen

79 Mitchell Street, Bendigo

The Epicurean Delicatessen has a large range of international and local cheeses, a full delicatessen (the proper kind, with sliced meats on the bone etc.) and an awesome assortment of gourmet food.

Bendigo Community Farmers’ Market

Sidney Myer Place, Bendigo

The market is held on the 2nd Saturday each month at Sidney Myer Place (the Rosalind Park end of Williamson Street). Meet the cheesemakers and farmers selling their own produce – Lochelian & Boosey Creek, as well as all the other goodies the market has to offer.

Now you know where to find the best cheese in Bendigo, let us tell you where to collect a little something extra to match…

Wine Bank on View

Offering an extensive range of local, domestic and international wine, here you can find some wine to compliment your cheese platter (ooh fancy!) With a bottle shop open seven days a week, and prices that are more affordable than any other retail outlet, you can’t go wrong!

Balgownie Estate Bendigo

Why not go the extra mile and head to the beautiful Balgownie Estate? Here you can find a wine tasting area where you can try before you buy. There is even a wine Museum, where you can learn about the rich history of local wine. You can get wine delivered directly to your door by buying online, however we think it’s worth the short trip, as this vineyard is very kind on the eye.

Let us know if you’ve tried any of these cheeses. What was your favourite?
