Sunday, a day of rest. And so it is for many of our café folk in Bendigo – and rightly so! They need a break too. There are some crazy people that do still get up at the crack of dawn to serve us on a Sunday and they are:
150 Condon Street
Stocking the finest local fruit, vege and deli items, you can count on fresh and delicious food from Edwards. With a modern, extensive menu, you will be spoilt for choice when dining in. If you check out their Instagram you will find local food inspo at its best, where you can go in and collect the ingredients if you’re feeling inventive on a Sunday morning.
The Everbean Café
22 Williamson Street
With very generous portion sizes and delicious meals this little café is the perfect place to fill your tummy and relax on a Sunday. You must try their freakshakes – like milkshakes on steroids. Yum!
332 Lyttleton Terrace
Open from at 8am Sunday, if you’re an early riser Cortille is the place for you! Known fondly as the café with the caravan inside and with focus on fun, Cortille will surely brighten up a quiet Sunday morning. Serving brekky all day so that those who like a later start on a Sunday the morning won’t miss out. They sell delicious waffles and you can design your own with an extensive range of toppings.
Ex Lion Tamer
143 Mollison Street
Another café offering all day breakfast every day and lunch from 11am, this place is perfect for a Sunday brunch. With heaps of choices on offer, we can’t go past the Italian Baked Eggs to kick of our day on a quiet Sunday morning.
The Good Loaf
404 Hargreaves St
26 Mercy St
Although the Good Loaf is closed on Sundays, you can find them at the Trove Maker’s Market on the third Sunday of the month. If you miss the market, we recommend toasting your own at home from the myriad fresh breads on offer – our pick is the corn/polenta loaf which is baked later in the morning. Their products are baked fresh daily, 100% additive free and produced sustainably. Wholesome, fresh and healthy, start your Sunday off right!
If we’ve forgotten your favourite café, please let us know!
