This weekend the Bendigo LEGO® User Group is set to turn their hands to flood relief with a fundraiser running on Saturday and Sunday. Their special exhibition, Brick Relief 2022 will run this weekend in the Girton Grammar School Gymnasium, 17 Vine Street.

Bendigo LEGO® User Group committee member Kara Harris said that the exhibition is the group’s own way of helping those affected by the recent floods.

“We run and participate in events all year, and wanted to use the skills we have in a meaningful way to support the families doing it tough in Rochester. We want to help in the best way we know how,” she said.

“The beauty of this event is that we get to out on a display for the community and support families affected by the floods at the same time.

Over 35 exhibitors will showcase their LEGO skills bringing along their many and varied creations including builds of local architecture, popular culture inspired displays, castles, Christmas sets, and space. There will also be opportunities to buy from vendor stalls including local businesses like Bendigo Golden Brick.

Children’s play zones will be available where kids to design their own LEGO® creations.

Attendees won’t be lacking for variety in all things LEGO®. “There’s so much on display, you’ll have to come along and take a look, but rest assured there will be lots of variety for everyone.” adds Ms Harris.

Tickets are $10 while children under four years old can enter for free.
Tickets are available online at www.brickrelief.au or can be purchased at the door over the weekend.

When it comes to distributing the funds, Mrs Harris said Rochester will be a priority for the group with money raised on the day allocated after talking with the town’s residents.
