If you’re like me, a lady who has no chance of being able to grow her own moustache, comedy fundraiser ‘Mo Laughs’ is a great way to give money to the cause while enjoying a fun-filled night (and not growing facial hair).
Prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide are among the leading health issues in men. Movember aims to spark conversation, increase awareness and raise funds. Funds raised go towards research into prevention and treatments. Comedy, and the social engagement of live stand-up comedy, can be a huge benefit to mental health and positivity for both men and women. This is why Luke Morris, with support from the Bendigo Comedy Festival, is producing the Stand-up Comedy Fundraiser.
Luke started to write comedy as an escape from bullying at school, and began performing stand-up to manage an anxiety issue. Since then he has sold-out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, performed overseas, and began studying Psychological Sciences in Bendigo.
Join Luke, along with other famous names such as Danny McGinlay (Bulldogs Bannerman), Ben Knight (The Merger) and Xavier Michelides (Movie Bois), alongside Bendigo favourite Ash Greblo (Wacko Man Man) and local comedy identity Mike Elliott (Sporklift) as they fill your night with lots of laughs.
$5 from every ticket sold will go to the Movember Foundation. Last year nearly 350 Mo Bros and Sistas across Bendigo raised more than $73,000 to help stop men dying too young. We can beat that, Bendigo!
