Live music is something that we always look forward to. Not only is it a great experience seeing live bands, it’s an awesome way to catch up with friends and you can support local Bendigo businesses and artists all at the same time! Bendigo has some great venues that regularly host touring bands, up and coming artists and local DJs. Here is a list of our favourite places:

Tap House
A craft beer and cider lounge that hosts touring bands regularly. With a standing capacity of 300, this venue is where you can see more popular bands that come to town on tour. Start your night off with a cocktail or two down stairs and head up to see the band later in the night. Past shows include The Preatures, The Superjesus, British India and Didirri.

The Old Church on the Hill
A welcoming venue with comfy couches to sit on, this is a more chilled out and relaxed place to listen to live music. With past events including Simon Marks, The Northern Folk and the John Flanagan Trio, here you’ll find artists who have a strong folk or blues sound. We think that sound matches the venue perfectly.

The Basement Bar
Steven Hammer, Mariah McCarthy, and Someday June are some of the names you’ll find at The Basement Bar. If you’ve ventured down into this venue before you’ll know that it is juuuust big enough to fit a large group of people; and that’s what we love about it. You can enjoy bands and artists, while feeling like you’ve been invited to attend an exclusive party.

The Golden Vine
You can count on The Golden Vine to host live bands almost every week. You’ll see lots of up and coming artists perform here. From locals to touring musicians, you can be assured to see some great live music. Past shows include music from Groove Juice, Sleepy West and Georgia State Line.

Handlebar
A place where everyone feels welcome, you can enjoy live music most weekends. Pumping with local DJs, a great selection of drinks and just the right amount of seats and dancing space. This is the perfect place to kick back after work on a Friday night. Most Friday and Saturday nights you’ll see live bands, and resident DJs taking things up a notch later in the night.

Entrée Music Bar
A new addition to Bendigo’s live music scene. The old McIvor Pub has been transformed into the perfect place to chill for after-work drinks, or head for snacks and drinks before a night out. There’s something for every music lover here, with Originals Night Thursday, Genre Night Friday, Covers on Saturday and a Chill Session on Sunday.

Let us know if we’ve forgotten your favourite venue and we’ll add it to our list.
